Admission process

GITAM School of Physiotherapy – Admission Process

For the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) at GITAM School of Physiotherapy, Visakhapatnam, the admission process is broadly as follows:

1. Check Eligibility

According to GITAM's BPT curriculum, the candidate should:

Be 17 years of age in the relevant admission year.
Pass 10+2 / Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB).
Have a minimum 60% aggregate in PCB/qualifying examination as specified in the BPT regulations.
Qualify through an accepted entrance route such as NEET, GAT-PT, or another specified examination.
2. Apply Online

Students apply through the GITAM admissions portal, select Undergraduate → Physiotherapy, provide their academic/personal details and upload the required information/documents.

3. Entrance Examination

GITAM's current admission system uses GAT (GITAM Admissions Test) for applicable programmes, while its BPT regulations also identify specified national/state-level examinations as possible qualifying routes.

For BPT, the programme regulations state that counselling ranking considers the candidate's 10+2 performance and qualifying-examination performance. Candidates called for counselling may undergo an interview before admission.
