Admission Process 2026-2027
Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya offers admissions to UG, PG, Diploma, professional and Ph.D. programmes. The university accepts applications through its online admission portal as well as offline submission.

1. Choose the Course

Select your preferred programme and check the course-specific eligibility. MGU offers programmes in areas such as Pharmacy, Nursing, Law, Management, Computer Applications, Science, Education and Health Sciences.

2. Check Eligibility

Eligibility depends on the programme.

UG: Generally 10+2/equivalent qualification.
PG: Relevant Bachelor's degree.
Professional courses: Additional requirements may apply according to the relevant regulatory body.
Ph.D.: Separate eligibility and entrance requirements apply.

For example, one current MGU UG programme requires 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate in five subjects, including English.

3. Submit Application

Candidates can apply online or offline.

Online process:

Complete basic registration.
Receive username and password by SMS.
Log in and fill personal and academic details.
Upload/submit the required information.
Preview and submit the application.

Offline: The prescribed application form can be submitted at the university/campus with the required documents and fee.

4. Entrance Examination – If Applicable

For programmes requiring the university entrance examination, candidates can appear for the MGU-GET. The university states that candidates may also be considered through qualifying national-level examinations such as CAT, MAT, GMAT and other applicable tests, depending on the programme.

The MGU-GET application fee listed by the university is ₹1,000.

5. Personal Interview / Selection

Candidates who qualify through the applicable entrance/merit route may be called for a Personal Interview (PI). The final selection is made according to the programme's admission criteria.

6. Document Verification

Selected candidates must provide original documents for verification. Common documents include:

10th marksheet/certificate
12th marksheet/certificate
Graduation marksheets/certificate for PG
Aadhaar/valid ID
Passport-size photographs
Category certificate, if applicable
Migration/Transfer Certificate
Entrance examination documents, where applicable

MGU's admission guidelines require supporting academic certificates and original documents when requested.

7. Fee Payment & Admission Confirmation

After selection and document verification, the student pays the prescribed admission/academic fee. Once the required formalities are completed, admission is confirmed
