Overview

Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) is a private university in Shillong, Meghalaya, established by the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly under Act No. 11 of 2005. The Act received the Governor's assent on 6 July 2005, and the university was notified in the Meghalaya Gazette in 2006. MLCU is recognised by the UGC under Section 2(f) and is empowered to award degrees under Section 22 of the UGC Act.

Admission Process

MLCU is currently showing Admission Open for 2026. The university states that CUET is not required and admissions are processed through its official admission portal on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to course eligibility.

1. Choose Your Course

Select the desired Diploma, UG, PG or Ph.D. programme and check the course-specific eligibility requirements.

2. Online Registration

Visit the official MLCU admission portal and register using a valid mobile number.

An OTP is sent to verify the mobile number, after which the applicant can create the admission account.

3. Fill the Application Form

Log in and select “Edit Application Form.” Complete the required personal, educational and course information and submit the declaration. MLCU also provides lateral-entry options for eligible diploma/PG diploma and transfer students.

4. Application & Fee Payment

After the application is processed/approved, the applicant pays the applicable admission/first-installment fees through the admission portal or approved payment method.

5. Document Verification

Students must bring original documents plus photocopies for verification. MLCU's current admission instructions specifically mention bringing marksheets and Aadhaar card before commencement of classes.

🎓 Ph.D. Admission

Ph.D. admissions have a separate process involving an entrance test and interview. For example, MLCU's Theology doctoral admission schedule for July 2026 listed an online entrance test followed by an interview.
