Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) is a 4-year undergraduate professional degree in pharmaceutical sciences. It prepares students for careers in pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, drug research, regulatory affairs, hospital/community pharmacy, sales and marketing, and higher studies.

The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) recognises B.Pharm as a qualification for pharmacist registration when completed from a PCI-approved institution.

B.Pharm is a 4-year undergraduate pharmacy course approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

1. Eligibility

Candidates generally need to:

  • Pass 10+2 / Higher Secondary Science
  • Have English as a subject
  • Study Physics and Chemistry
  • Have Mathematics and/or Biology
  • Meet the minimum marks prescribed by the concerned university/state admission authority.

Students with an eligible D.Pharm qualification from a PCI-approved institution may be eligible for lateral entry into the third semester, subject to applicable rules.

5. For Assam Students

For Assam B.Pharm admissions, the admission route can depend on whether the college is government/private and the applicable SSUHS/state rules. For the 2026–27 session, an Assam pharmacy admission notice states requirements including 10+2 Science with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and/or Mathematics, with additional conditions for government institutes.

For example, NEF College of Pharmaceutical Education & Research lists SSUHS CEE 2026–27 and its own admission process for B.Pharm/D.Pharm.
